AIM Provider Fails to Create Environment at the CyberArk Vault

A client reported: When installing AIM on a Linux server, they get the following error:
“Error occurred while trying to create Vault environment. Reason: Failed to get details for user ”

This error occurs when the AIM AppProvider fails to connect to the vault to create the environment during the installation of AIM. After some investigation, it turns out that the server name listed in the aimparms file, was too long (over 28 characters). The client was surprised that such a simple oversight could have caused such an issue.

The following are a few other tips on AIM Installation:
Assure the cred file is created for the Administrator user performing the AIM installation
Assure the vault is reachable from server provider via port 1858.
Assure the vault can reach the provider server via DNS lookup.
