Case Study - Non-profit Catholic healthcare system

Challenge

Operating in a complex environment with ten hospitals in three states and hundreds of clinics and a single EMR system, the disparate set of data and personas led to complicated lifecycle and provisioning processes.  The home-grown identity governance system was difficult to maintain and meet the changing needs of the business.  The customer had multiple unsuccessful attempts deploying a new identity governance system before engaging IDMWORKS.

Solution

IDMWORKS started with a full assessment and roadmap of the client’s environment, evaluating the technology, processes, and data.  This led to a multi-phased, agile deployment of SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ), hosted and managed by IDMWORKS.  Various vendor technologies were integrated to provide non-employee management, self-service password management, identity proofing, and provisioning with IDMWORKS Lifecycle Auto-Fulfillment. IDMWORKS delivered custom account claiming and confidentiality agreement portals for new employees to verify themselves on day one. IDMWORKS provides Managed Services and hosting to support the daily operations and maintenance of the environment.

Results

The SailPoint IIQ implementation manages the lifecycle and access for 12 personas across the enterprise including over 900 remote clinics that independently manage non-employee access.  Integration with the Epic EMR system allows for provisioning of both EMP and SER records.  IDMWORKS successful implementation has delivered a 50% reduction in helpdesk calls during employee onboarding and has reduced overall helpdesk wait times from 40+ minutes to near 0.  This has led to increased satisfaction with the employee onboarding experience while administrative overhead.
