Challenge

The customer’s CISO engaged IDMWORKS to assess the identity security posture of their environment. SAP was entrenched as the solution provider for most business functions, including identity management. The IDMWORKS assessment delivered a roadmap to revamp the identity security landscape and modernize their IGA technology and processes. IDMWORKS continued to mature the identity programs, adapting to new business conditions and requirements.

Solution

IDMWORKS implemented SailPoint IdentityIQ to replace the legacy SAP IAM processes.  The initial implementation phase included authoritative sources, core directory provisioning, and leaver lifecycle events. The customer’s business landscape was rapidly shifting: SAP being phased out, Active Directory merging with Azure, migrating to Workday, etc.  The next phases saw significant changes, introducing new authoritative sources, full-scale provisioning to new business applications, and the development of a full range of identity lifecycle events across the US and international businesses. IDMWORKS developed an agile delivery method and worked with the customer to convert the team to an SDLC process supporting it. An Azure Devops repository and Jenkins were leveraged to round out the tooling for optimal efficiency.  One of those items was a user-driven application onboarding process, allowing owners to create their own applications for an upcoming certification cycle.

Results

IDMWORKS delivery methodology and innovative approach delivered business value year over year by running an enhancement and delivery program for the customer’s IAM program.  IDMWORKS methods helped formalize their testing and deployment strategies, which has allowed for a seamless deployment process.  Additional benefits included the ability to onboard over fifty applications in a single quarter to support certification campaigns.  The customer now has improved their identity security posture and is left with a high-functioning IGA delivery process to support their organizational needs.
