Challenge
Years of both organic and acquisitive growth left an enterprise and customer-facing IAM environment comprised of multiple disparate IAM solutions, served by inconsistent identity security policies and a patchwork of standards and processes. Key stakeholders cross many functional areas throughout the organization. This customer is also an early adopter of SailPoint (over 10 years).
Solution
The customer engaged IDMWORKS in a comprehensive assessment across all key stakeholders to ensure a deep understanding of the current environment, challenges, and future needs across three pillars of people, processes, and technology. Stakeholder engagement spanned HR, Payroll, App Development, Information Security, and Enterprise Data Services on the enterprise IAM side and Information Security, Application Owners, Development, and Marketing teams. IDMWORKS instituted a programmatic approach to organizing their backlog, prioritizing work and driving agile methodology into the day to day turn over of resolutions and providing ultimately organizational wins.
Results
IDMWORKS defined a modern program that will help the organization achieve a more secure environment that is able to adapt to changing engagement patterns and future business growth. This afforded the organization to develop governance processes, implement new technologies, and mature products already in the environment. At current state, the backlog is nearly complete allowing the team to focus on net new initiatives and keeping lights on for everything implemented. This has also allowed the customer to review and consider moving to the SailPoint cloud platform
