IAM Case Study: How Nebraska Methodist Health System Improved Identity Management with IDMWORKS & SailPoint

“IDMWORKS was the right partner for us to help build the foundation for our Identity Governance Program. Their resources have extensive hands-on experience that we lacked internally. We look forward to continuing our partnership.”

Chad H. – Security Architect

The Challenge

Like many healthcare organizations, Nebraska Methodist Health System faced a number of challenges with their identity management processes.  These included:

  • Manual processes to manage employees, contractors, students, providers, and nurses
  • Difficulty managing multiple personas in healthcare
  • Lack of codeless workflows & self-service password reset
  • Long time to provision resources
  • Large user population (9,000+ employees, contractors, students, providers, and nurses)
The Solution

To address these challenges, Methodist Health System worked with IDMWORKS and implemented SailPoint IdentityNow, an identity governance and administration (IGA) platform. SailPoint IdentityNow is a cloud-based solution that provides a single pane of glass for managing all users and their access to resources. It also offers a number of features that are specifically designed for healthcare organizations, such as multi-persona workflows, and support for birthright roles.

The Results

IDMWORKS strategized with SailPoint to implement IdentityNow to help improve Methodist Health System’s identity management processes. The platform is designed to enhance these processes in a number of ways to benefit their needs:

Improved efficiency: IdentityNow will help Methodist Health System to automate many of their manual identity management processes, freeing up their IT staff to focus on more strategic initiatives.

Reduced risk: IdentityNow will help Methodist Health System to ensure that users only have access to the resources they need. This will reduce the risk of unauthorized access and data breaches.

Enhanced compliance: IdentityNow will help Methodist Health System to comply with a variety of industry regulations, such as HIPAA and PCI DSS.

This case study is a great example of how IDMWORKS is able to help healthcare companies find the right solutions for all their IAM needs. Overall, Methodist Health System has been very pleased with the results of implementing SailPoint IdentityNow through IDMWORKS and is looking forward to future benefits.
